NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY IN LANCASHIRE & MANCHESTER
THE FIRST FEW WEEKS, held still.
Calm, unhurried newborn photography in your own home or in my quiet Ribble Valley studio. For the sleepy stretches, the curled up toes, the way they fit so perfectly in your arms.
They’ll NEVER be this small agaIN.
You already know that. It’s why you’re here.
Those first days are a blur of feeds, half a nights sleep and a love so
big it’s hard to hold. My job is to slow it all down for you. Not
with complicated poses or a cupboard full of props, but with
patience, warm light and a gentle eye for the small things you’ll
want to remember.
The weight of them on your chest. A whole hand wrapped around
one of your fingers. That milk-drunk sleep. One day these
photographs will show them where they came from, and how
loved they were from the very first breath.

TWO WaYS TO DO THIS
Both are calm. Both are led entirely by your baby. The only question is where you feel most like yourselves.
Some families want the story of home. The nursery, the bed you all pile into at night, the sofa where the night feeds happen. Others would rather be looked after somewhere warm and quiet, with everything ready for them.
If you’re torn, we’ll talk it through when you book and find the one that suits you best.

IN YOUR HOME
No car seat, no packing the changing bag, no watching the clock. I come to you, and we photograph your first weeks exactly where they’re happening. The nursery you spent months getting ready. The bed you all pile into. The window where you do the 3am feed. Real, honest and entirely yours.

IN MY STUDIO
Tucked away in the Ribble Valley, my home studio is warm, quiet and ready for you. Take off your shoes and I’ll put the kettle on. It’s time to let someone else take care of you for a couple of hours. I’ll look after every detail. You’ll feel that relaxed you might even take the opportunity for a nap.

THE FIRST CHAPTER

KIND WORDS
Most parents tell me the same thing afterwards. It didn’t feel like a photoshoot. It felt like a slow morning.
There were feeds and pauses and nobody minded.
That’s the whole point. A newborn shoot should give you something back, not take it out of you.
“We cannot thank you enough. The pictures are incredible but the experience you created was what made it so perfect.”
GENTLE, FROM THE FIRST HELLO
Most families get in touch during the second trimester. I take a small number of newborns each month, so the earlier you enquire, the more choice you’ll have.
Your session is pencilled in around your due date. Early arrival? Fashionably late? We simply move it. Babies don’t read calendars.
Message me once baby is here and we’ll confirm your date. Between 5 and 14 days old is the sweet spot, when they’re sleepiest and want to still curl up naturally.
Your private gallery arrives within 1-2 weeks, ready to download, share and print. Beautiful albums and prints are available too.

EDITORIAL BY DESIGN
The approach
Think less studio portrait, more magazine feature. Soft window light, simple linen, a quiet palette, and room around your baby for the small details to speak. No baskets, no cupboard full of props, nothing trying too hard. Just calm, considered photographs that feel exactly like the morning they were taken.
Every frame is thought through, but the pace is always your baby’s. The room is kept warm, there’s time for every feed and every cuddle, and they’re only ever placed in positions that are natural and safe for them. No photograph is worth more than their comfort.

THE THINGS PARENTS ASK

Something I haven’t covered? Ask me anything. There’s no such thing as a silly question at 38 weeks.
WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY NEWBORN SESSION?
Ideally during your second trimester, so anytime between 20-30 weeks pregnant. Especially if you are looking for a maternity ‘bump to baby’ session. I only photograph a small number of newborns each month, so getting in touch early means your date is held well before baby arrives.
How old should my baby be?
The sweet spot for a newborn photography session is between 5 and 14 days old, when babies are at their sleepiest and love being curled up naturally. If your baby is older, that’s completely fine. Older babies bring wide eyes and big stretches and those photographs are equally as precious.
What IF MY BABY ARRIVES EARLY OR LATE?
We simply move your date to suit you. I keep space in my dairy exactly for this situation. I’ll already have a rough guideline of when your shoot will take place so you can pop me a message when baby arrives and we will find the right date for your session together.
HOW LONG DOES A NEWBORN SESSION Last?
Each session is up to 2hrs so there’s plenty of time for feeding, cuddles and nappy changes. The environment is always baby led, so there’s never any rush and there’s always a sense of calm in the air.
SHOULD WE CHOOSE AN AT HOME OR STUDIO SESSION?
This is entirely up to you. If you’d love your photographs in your home, to tell the complete story of how your life looks as your first weeks as a family, in your home would be perfect. This option is also great if you have siblings that want to get in on the action.
Studio sessions are somewhere for you to be looked after while I photograph all the tiny details of your little bundle. Both options are completely relaxed and baby led.
